Isn’t it time we repeal the 14th Amendment and do away with ‘Chain Immigration‘?

A six-year-old suspected illegal immigrant was arrested on Friday – the same day President Obama softened the U.S. deportation policy towards young immigrants.

The young girl was arrested with 15 other suspected illegal aliens in Maricopa County, Arizona, as Obama announced plans to allow 800,000 illegal immigrants to the stay in the U.S..

The group were believed to be travelling to the Midwest and northeast U.S., according to Maricopa County Sheriff Office spokesman Chris Hegstrom.

Arrested: A 6-year-old girl was arrested with 15 other suspected illegal immigrants in Maricopa County, Arizona, on Friday (file photo shows illegal immigrants being deported from Arizona in 2010)

The girl, who said she was from El Salvador, has been turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) who will try and establish where exactly she is from.

The 15 people she was travelling with claimed to know nothing about her and it is not known where the girl’s parents or guardians are, reported AZCentral.

The other suspected illegal immigrants, who told officials they were from Mexico, were booked into jail.

‘It was part of a human-smuggling investigation that we’ve been investigating throughout the Valley,’ Hegstrom told

Sheriff Joe Arpaio told the website that they are trying to establish where the girl was going and what will be done with her now.

‘We enforce the human-smuggling laws here,’ Arpaio told the website.

‘Every chance I can get to take action on my own without turning them over to ICE, I do. Especially with the new policy the president has,’ he added.

Coincidence: The young girl was handed over to ICE the day Obama announced plans to allow 800,000 illegal immigrants to the stay in the U.S. A Maricopa County officer said it was a coincidence that the arrest happened on the same day that the President softened the county’s deportation policy

On Friday Obama announced that the Department of Homeland Security will stop deportations and grant work permits for students from oversees who meet certain requirements.

The change will affect those who arrived in the U.S. before turning 16, who have been in the country for at least five years, and are under 30.

The President’s decision to allow up to allow up to 800,000 young illegal immigrants to remain in America has divided Republicans and was met with silence by his 2012 opponent Mitt Romney for nearly six hours.

The Obama administration’s announcement that it would stop deporting and begin granting work permits to younger illegal immigrants who came to the US as children and have led law-abiding lives caught Romney by surprise.

Eventually, Romney came out and said that he believed Obama had addressed an ‘important matter’ with a short-term measure but the way it had been done ‘makes it more difficult to reach that long-term solution.

Arpaio told that the six-year-old being arrested the same day as the President’s announcement was purely a coincidence.

  1. Joe Arpaio, the controversial Arizona Sheriff from Maricopa County, arrested a 6-year-old undocumented immigrant on Friday. The move came the same day President Obama announced a new policy halting deportations for young undocumented immigrants. Video:

    • “A 6-year-old undocumented immigrant” believe me I feel empathy for this little girl. She did not cross the border ILLEGALY on her own. No one that she was arrested claimed to know her. How immoral is that?

She is not “a 6-year-old undocumented immigrant”, she is an illegal. She has no ‘right’ to be in the USA. How would an “undocumented person” be treated in Mexico?

      – The Mexican government will bar foreigners if they upset “the equilibrium of the national demographics.” How’s that for racial and ethnic profiling?

      – If outsiders do not enhance the country’s “economic or national interests” or are “not found to be physically or mentally healthy,” they are not welcome. Neither are those who show “contempt against national sovereignty or security.” They must not be economic burdens on society and must have clean criminal histories. Those seeking to obtain Mexican citizenship must show a birth certificate, provide a bank statement proving economic independence, pass an exam and prove they can provide their own health care.

      – Illegal entry into the country is equivalent to a felony punishable by two years’ imprisonment. Document fraud is subject to fine and imprisonment; so is alien marriage fraud. Evading deportation is a serious crime; illegal re-entry after deportation is punishable by ten years’ imprisonment. Foreigners may be kicked out of the country without due process and the endless bites at the litigation apple that illegal aliens are afforded in our country (see, for example, President Obama’s illegal alien aunt — a fugitive from deportation for eight years who is awaiting a second decision on her previously rejected asylum claim).

      – Law enforcement officials at all levels — by national mandate — must cooperate to enforce immigration laws, including illegal alien arrests and deportations. The Mexican military is also required to assist in immigration enforcement operations. Native-born Mexicans are empowered to make citizens’ arrests of illegal aliens and turn them in to authorities.

      – Ready to show your papers? Mexico’s National Catalog of Foreigners tracks all outside tourists and foreign nationals. A National Population Registry tracks and verifies the identity of every member of the population, who must carry a citizens’ identity card. Visitors who do not possess proper documents and identification are subject to arrest as illegal aliens.

All of these provisions are enshrined in Mexico’s Ley General de Población (General Law of the Population) and were spotlighted in a 2006 research paper published by the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Security Policy. There’s been no public clamor for “comprehensive immigration reform” in Mexico, however, because pro-illegal alien speech by outsiders is prohibited.
