According to the Wall Street Journal’s Market Watch, General Motors now wants the U.S. to sell its stakes in the company. GM executives are seeing the negativity that comes when government has ownership in private enterprise.
GM executives believe the pay restrictions currently in place are hindering “top talent” to come work for the company. This is shocking to hear in the days of the Chevy Volt.
President Obama and the Democratic party continually preached at the DNC in Charlotte, North Carolina, that government is not an evil force. Their belief is that government can come in and help the needy. I’m sure when General Motors was in need of a bailout they thought the same.
Here we are in 2012. What if General Motors needs another bailout? Would this mean that government has failed to help this desperate automobil giant?
