Didn’t these 2 teams make a trade in the offseason?

Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway endorsed Mitt Romney ahead of Wednesday’s presidential debate in Colorado.

“Governor Romney is a proven leader with the experience and background to turn around our struggling economy,” Elway said in a statement. “In these tough economic times, we need a president who understands how to get America working again – by standing on the side of taxpayers and small-business owners who do the real job creating. I am endorsing Governor Romney and Congressman Ryan for President and Vice President because I know having the courage to make decisions and tackle challenges is what leads to results and real change. America needs a comeback team – Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are that team.”

“Leaders come in many forms, and John Elway has always exemplified leadership, first as a quarterback for the Super Bowl champion Broncos, and now as an executive vice president for the team,” Romney said in a statement. “He’s had to overcome challenges during his career, and he knows what it takes to turn things around when things get tough. I’m proud to have him on my team as we campaign to lead the comeback this nation desperately needs.”

Elway, the longtime quarterback of the Denver Broncos, is executive vice president of football operations for the Denver Broncos. Elway was instrumental in letting quarterback Tim Tebow go in the last off-season and signing Peyton Manning.

DREAM Act would boost economy, add jobs, think tank says

What a bunch of BS!!!

1:33AM EST October 1. 2012 – If illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children were given legal status, their improved access to college and better jobs would add $329 billion and 1.4 million jobs to the nation’s economy over two decades, according to a report set for release today.

The report found that up to 223,000 of the 2.1 million young illegal immigrants eligible for the DREAM Act would have an easier time enrolling, paying for and finishing college, which would lead to the increased economic gains.

The study was released by the Center for American Progress, a Washington-based, left-leaning think tank that supports the DREAM Act, and the Partnership for a New American Economy, which was created by independent New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch. The center has pushed Congress to pass the DREAM Act and other bills that would grant more visas to foreign students that specialize in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

“This report proves a fundamental truth about the contributions of immigrants to the American economy: we absolutely need them to continue our economic growth,” Bloomberg said in a statement.

The report provides an argument in favor of the DREAM Act, which would grant legal residency to illegal immigrants brought to the country as children who have completed some college or served in the military.

When the DREAM Act was first introduced in 2001, it was a bipartisan effort sponsored by Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., and Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah. But it has since become more partisan. The House of Representatives passed it in 2010 with minimal Republican support, and it failed in the Senate when only three Republicans voted for it.

President Obama has supported the bill, and recently used his executive authority to give some relief to DREAMers. He created the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program that does not grant legal residency or U.S. citizenship, but gives young illegal immigrants deferred deportations and work permits for two years. Republican nominee Mitt Romney said he would veto the current version of the DREAM Act if it came before him, but supports legalizing young illegal immigrants who have served in the military.

In recent years, supporters of the DREAM Act have tried to sell the bill by personalizing the people it would affect. Durbin has told stories on the Senate floor of individual DREAMers, and young illegal immigrants have increasingly “outed” themselves in recent years, revealing their status to draw attention to their situation.

That argument is one that even opponents of the act find persuasive. Steven Camarota, director of researcher at the Center for Immigration Studies, which opposes the DREAM Act, said the moral argument is one that “carries weight with most Americans.”

So he’s confused why supporters would push an economic argument that opens up the DREAM Act to criticism. With unemployment remaining over 8%, Camarota wonders why supporters would draw attention to just how many new, young, college-educated people would be fighting native-born Americans for jobs.

“Somebody came here as child — is it fair to ask them to go back to another country? That’s the argument I find persuasive,” he said. “But even their own study shows that their effect on the economy is trivial. It’s so tiny relative to the size of the U.S. economy that you can’t even measure it. That’s why they do it over 20 years.”

Angela Kelley, vice president for immigration policy at the Center for American Progress, said the newly legalized workers would not be competing job-for-job with unemployed Americans. Instead, she pointed to the example of Sergey Brin, who was born in the Soviet Union but co-founded Google in the U.S.

“It’s not as if that was a job that was taken from an American worker,” she said.

Kelley said the report does not represent a new strategy for garnering support for the DREAM Act but simply another way to show Americans what it can do.

“We’re trying to round out the picture of what the DREAM Act would mean, not only to the individuals who would benefit from it … but also what it would mean for the country as a whole,” she said.

TALKING ABOUT BUYING VOTES WITH TAXPAYER DOLLARS!

Obama administration tells contractors again: Don’t issue layoff notices – The Hill’s DEFCON Hill

The Obama administration issued new guidance intended for defense contractors Friday afternoon, reiterating the administration’s position that the companies should not be issuing layoff notices over sequestration.

The Labor Department issued guidance in July saying it would be “inappropriate” for contractors to issue notices of potential layoffs tied to sequestration cuts. But a few contractors, most notably Lockheed Martin, said they still were considering whether to issue the notices — which would be sent out just days before the November election.

But the Friday guidance from the Office of Management and Budget raised the stakes in the dispute, telling contractors that they would be compensated for legal costs if layoffs occur due to contract cancellations under sequestration — but only if the contractors follow the Labor guidance.

The guidance said that if plant closings or mass layoffs occur under sequestration, then “employee compensation costs for [Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification] WARN act liability as determined by a court” would be paid for covered by the contracting federal agency.

Senate Republicans, who accused the White House of trying to hide job losses after the first guidance, said Friday that the new OMB statement “puts politics ahead of American workers.”

“The Obama Administration is cynically trying to skirt the WARN Act to keep the American people in the dark about this looming national security and fiscal crisis,” Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) said in a statement. “The president should insist that companies act in accordance with the clearly stated law and move forward with the layoff notices.”

The fight over WARN Act notices began in June when Lockheed Martin CEO Bob Stevens said his company might send the notices to all 123,000 of its employees.

Some companies were hesitant to follow Lockheed, but several others told McCain in letters earlier this month they might send the notices, too, despite the Labor Department guidance.

But the new guidance would appear to address one of the chief concerns from the companies — that they could be liable to compensate employees who were laid off if the companies don’t issue the notices.

The GOP senators complained, however, that this tactic would push the cost of the layoffs onto taxpayers.

A Lockheed Martin spokeswoman told The Hill that the company is still reviewing the documents.

Democrats lay out second-term wish list for President Obama

The presidential contest is far from over, but House Democrats are already readying their legislative wish-lists in hopes that President Obama is reelected.

The lawmakers are floating a broad array of issues they’d like Obama to tackle immediately in a second term, placing a focus on jobs and the economy, but also thorny discretionary issues like immigration, climate change, housing – even a return to healthcare reform.

An Obama victory in November would lend the president a new fistful of political capital as he confronts Republican leaders over how to avoid the fiscal cliff and steer the polarized country through the next four years. More than a month before November’s elections, his allies in the House are already offering tips for how to spend it.

“He’s got to continue to concentrate on jobs,” Rep. Bill Pascrell said last week as the House was leaving town for a long, pre-election recess.

“I’m hoping he’ll do immigration reform,” said Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas).

“We should get back to an energy policy – one that acknowledges that climate change is real,” said Rep. Peter Welch (D-Vt.).

“The critical issues will be revenue generation … and … a concerted push on immigration reform,” said Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.).

“I think he’d want his administration to start on healthcare,” said Rep. Mike Honda (D-Calif.).

New poll: Romney overtakes Obama on terrorism | FP Passport

I have a theory about polls in general, I’m sure I’m not the 1st to say this but I don’t hear it discussed very often.  Polls have historically been completed by use of random telephone calls.  A lot has changed in the phone industry over the last 5-10 years.  I remember when the home phone rang we used to have fights trying to get to the phone to answer it.  Now those of us that do have home phones don’t even flinch when it rings, we let the answering machine do it’s job.

So that brings me to my theory.  The polls only reflect the opinions of those that are dumb enough willing to answer a call from a phone number they do not recognize.  At the risk of having a poll that is less useful than a Presidential poll I’m including a poll at the bottom of this article.  I’d like to see 1,000’s of votes, realistically I don’t expect to top 10.

Pollsters won’t subscribe to my theory above.  That would rinder their whole industry as rubbish.

The foreign-policy results of the new Bloomberg National Poll haven’t gotten much attention yet, but the survey contains some bad news for the Obama campaign. According to the poll, Mitt Romney has a 48-42 advantage over Barack Obama on the question of which candidate would be tougher on terrorism. Romney, in other words, has encroached on one of Obama’s signature strengths.

What makes this result so surprising is that the president has consistently trounced Romney when it comes to counterterrorism. A Fox News poll earlier this month found that 49 percent of respondents trusted Obama to do a better job than Romney in protecting the United States from terrorist attacks, compared with 41 percent who put their faith in the Republican candidate. The president had a 51-40 advantage on handling terrorism in an ABC News/Washington Post poll around the same time, and a 50-35 edge on carrying out the war on terror in an Ipsos/Reuters poll in August. The Democrats’ rare national-security muscle was on full display at their convention, where speakers boasted about the administration’s successful raid against Osama bin Laden and targeted killings of al Qaeda leaders.

The Bloomberg poll contains other grim findings for Obama — such as declining approval of the president’s diplomacy and a neck-and-neck battle between Obama and Romney on flashpoint campaign issues such as energy independence, Chinese trade practices, relations with Israel, and Iran’s nuclear program (61 percent of respondents were skeptical about Obama’s pledge to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon). There are also bright spots for the president, like healthy skepticism about Romney’s promise to designate China a currency manipulator and Obama’s continued advantage over Romney on the question of which candidate would be better suited to handle a Mideast crisis.

Significantly, Bloomberg’s survey, which was conducted from Sept. 21-24, is one of the first polls to come out since the wave of anti-American protests in the Middle East. The key question: Is Romney’s terrorism advantage an anomaly, or a sign that Obama is more vulnerable on national security after the unrest in the Middle East and the administration’s shifting account of the deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi?

Given that a separate poll this weeks shows Obama besting Romney on national security among likely voters in swing states, it may be too early to answer that question.

What a crock!  How many millions of parole violators do we have in this country?  The feds make this guy public enemy #1.

I just want to go on record as saying that Muhammad is insecure, illiterate, a blood-thirsty savage, a con artist, a child rapist and a thief.  Yea I said it, what are you going to do about Eric Holder?

The producer of the controversial anti-Islam film “Innocence of Muslims” has been arrested for violating terms of his probation and is set for an appearance this afternoon in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, is scheduled for an initial appearance before Judge Christina Snyder, who sentenced him in June 2010 following a bank fraud conviction.

Investigators have not yet provided details about how Nakoula allegedly violated probation, but it seems clear that his involvement in the “Innocence of Muslim” production is central to the government’s claim.

Nakoula (seen above) was sentenced to 21 months in prison to be followed by six months in a halfway house. Upon completion of the custodial term, he was placed on probation for five years.

Included in his probation terms were prohibitions on his use of the Internet, unless he secured prior approval from his probation officer. Additionally, he was not to “use, for any purpose or in any manner, any name other than his/her true legal name or names without the prior written approval of the Probation Officer.”

While producing “Innocence of Muslims,” Nakoula repeatedly used the alias “Sam Bacile” (and other variants) in communications, online postings, and dealings with cast and crew working on the film.

As TSG reported earlier this month, Nakoula began cooperating with federal investigators following his arrest in the check-kiting case. In return for Nakoula’s cooperation, Department of Justice prosecutors provided Judge Snyder with a letter noting that his substantial assistance to authorities warranted a sentence reduction.

At his sentencing, Nakoula said, “I decided to cooperate with the government to retrieve some of these mistakes or damage happened. I want to cooperate with the government that they can catch with this other criminals who is their involvement.”

Snyder’s eventual sentence was about a year less than the punishment sought by probation officials and federal prosecutors.

Yes, a picture Is worth 1,000 words

Is the big one Obama and the small one the MSM?

First of all I just want to give a big shout out to the savage sadists, who put a bounty on my head for insulting their precious little “prophet.” You’re going to be hearing a lot more from me in these days. So, get used to it, because my free speech and I are not going anywhere and you fascist fanatic freaks will be hunted down and prosecuted, Insha’Allah.

Now then, with all of the death threats directed at me and others, who are simply telling the truth about Islam, one has to wonder, what are the leaders in Islam trying to hide? It’s a belief system and we should be allowed to question it, criticize it, to question it and even mock it. In fact, come to think of it, we are allowed to do all of those things. This is America, land of the free and home of the brave – also home of the First Amendment, a freedom which keeps the rest of the free world free. And free is how we intend to remain, no matter what the cost.

But if America is a free country then why is a New Jersey Islamic cleric, Mohammad Qatanani, leader of the Islamic Center of Passaic County (ICPC) saying this? “Americans, have to put limits on freedom of speech,” and “Americans may have the freedom to speak their mind, ultimately, they have no right to talk about Muslim holy issues” and things of that nature. Has he forgotten where he is? Or is he in America to try to change things for the benefit of Islam?

Moronic Muslim messages such as this one, here in America, are in no short supply. In fact lately, Islamist leaders and many so-called “moderate Muslims” seem to be feeling somewhat emboldened by the recent wave of global fascist fist shaking and showing their true colors, at last.

It’s probably worth mentioning that the Department of Homeland Security charges that this enemy of free speech, Imam Mohammad Qatanani, in applying for a green card, failed to disclose that in 1993 he was arrested in Israel and convicted of aiding Hamas. Qatani also has admitted to being a member of the Muslim Brotherhood which is the parent organization of Hamas. How Islamophobic of me really though to even bring this up. There must be some kind of a misunderstanding actually because New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie keeps calling this terrorist-tied enemy of the American Constitution his “friend”.

Speaking of people and organizations that are here to change America to accommodate Islam – I could not help but notice that CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations, was using social media in a rather irresponsible way. Recently, “CAIR National” a Hamas front group, decided to distribute an article, which tries to connect me to the making of a film that I clearly did not make:

This article also seems to imply that the threats are probably made up, and even if they are real, I probably have it coming, given what I wrote on this last 9/11 day of remembrance. The continuous advancement, of this concocted rumor, has resulted in a bounty of 10 million Rupees being placed on my head by Islamic terrorists. Someone seems to have a lot invested in fanning the flames and keeping this “misunderstanding” alive in the Pakistani press and the online Islamo-blogosphere – also known as the “Islamosphere” or “the place where so-called Islamophobia researchers signal to Jihadists whom they should target for death threats and/or assassination”.

Pictured Above: An Islamic bounty on my head of 10 million Rupees.
Does the head shot on the right make me look fat?

Anyway, I’ll cycle back to the issue of Islamic terrorists calling for my assassination in a moment. But first I want to expose, once and for all, the followers of Jesus Christ.

“Jesus Christ” is a recurring character on Fox’s hit comedy series, “Family Guy”. In the now legendary episode called, “I Dream of Jesus” Peter discovers Jesus working at a record store and tries to help him make a comeback, by booking Jesus on the Jay Leno Show. The character of Jesus then skyrockets to fame, goes on tour, blinged out in gold chains and designer sunglasses, while backed by a band of bikini-clad back-up singers. He calls his act “Jesus Christ and the Pussy Cat Dolls”.

Pictured Above: The most-watched episode of “Family Guy” in America called “I Dream of Jesus”

Strangely however, I don’t see followers of Jesus Christ storming embassies, burning flags, gang raping an Ambassador, rioting in the streets chanting “death to America!” or putting a bounty on anybody’s head. I’m not a follower of Jesus Christ personally, but I did grow up in a family that was a big part of his fan club. And I do recall from years of Sunday school that Jesus did teach something about forgiveness and loving your neighbor. Come to think of it, he set bar pretty high, because he said to love your neighbor as yourself. And unlike the illiterate, blood-thirsty savage Muhammad, he never said to “strike terror into the hearts of the unbelievers”. And what holy man would utter such belligerent nonsense unless he was riddled with insecurities and scared to death of being found out for being a con artist, a child rapist and a thief?

So why are the followers of Muhammad so touchy? Do they suffer from the same insecurities that Muhammad did? Why do their fragile feelings get hurt so easily? Why do so many of Muhammad’s deeply delusional followers demand we respect their imaginary “prophet” or else face death threats, rioting, violence and destruction? Why are we expected to pretend that this self-proclaimed “prophet” is beyond criticism and to roll over when his followers attack our First Amendment right to free speech?

What is it about Islam that makes it so opposed to free speech, and why do its leaders keep telling us that Islamic Law (also known as Sharia Law) is compatible with our Constitution? If Sharia Law denies the right to free speech, then clearly it is not compatible with the Constitution. Why all the lies and double standards?

Could it be that Islam commands that it is superior? It’s hard to believe that a severely indoctrinated culture, suffering from such insufferable insecurity could expect us to believe something so absurd, but actually they do. In the muddied minds of the Muslim masses this is not a double standard at all. In fact this is central to the belief system of Islam – that Islam is superior and that the whole world must submit to the laws of Islam.

In the best-selling fictional thriller, “The Hoy Quran,” poorly ghost-written by an illiterate desert filthy old man, using the pen name “Allah,” the character “Muhammad” arrogantly gives everyone who does not follow his delusional ideology three options: either you convert, subjugate or be killed. Furthermore, the Islamic scriptures command that Mohammad is the highest moral example in Islam – the man to be followed and imitated. According to Islamic Scholar and author, Dr. Bill Warner:

“The importance of studying Muhammad is found in the Koran itself. Over 30 times the Koran says that every human being is supposed to do everything in their life patterned after Muhammad. Then it turns around and says over 40 times that if you don’t do everything like Mohammed did it, you will go to hell. Everything has to be done the way Muhammad did. Muhammad is the perfect pattern of life for all peoples for all time.”

1,400 years of following the horrific example of “The Prophet” has created a culture of fear, violence, Jew hatred, women hatred, homicide of homosexuals, prohibition of critical thinking and endless wars, tyranny and an absolute intolerance for free speech. It grows like a giant wicked beast, which reaches out its poisonous tentacles into numerous climate regions of the planet and brainwashes the minds of the most frightened, least educated, poorest people, the ones who are most vulnerable, promising them paradise and scaring them into submission with the threat of hell, making them all the “slaves of Allah”. Its tyranny must end. But other than that, Islam is peace.

At least, that is what we are told by our Petroleum-compromised past President, our Islamist appeasing current Commander and Chief, Mullahs, Muftis, clerics and Imams around the world and the Council on American Islamic Relations.

So, if Islam is peace, then why did an Islamic cleric place a Fatwa on Salman Rushdie to be assassinated after the publication of the award-winning novel, “The Satanic Verses”? Why did the Danish Cartoonist, Kurt Westergaard wake up to a Somali Muslim, armed with an axe and a knife, who had broken into his home to murder him for drawing “the prophet” Muhammad? Why is it that the filmmaker of the 11 minute film “Submission”, Theo van Gogh, was shot several times in broad daylight, and then had a sword rammed into his heart with a note to his co-filmmaker (causing her to go into hiding), denouncing the “mocking of the prophet”?

What do these artists and many others like them have in common? They have used the arts to lampoon Muhammad. So, given that Muhammad is the “highest moral example” to his followers, what would Mohammed have done? According to the Islamic scriptures, Mohammed did find out about some poets who were lampooning him and he had all of them murdered for it. Those who seek the death of artists who lampoon Muhammad are simply being devout Muslims, by following the numerous commands which state that Muhammad is the highest moral example in Islam. The word Islam literally means “submission” and those violent deranged individuals who carry out violence in the name of Allah (Jihad) are merely submitting to Islam. Islam is a mental illness, it’s contagious and its only remedy is truth.

As I mentioned earlier, I was recently accused of being the filmmaker behind the hit YouTube Islamo-Comedy “The Innocence of Muslims.” I haven’t seen a movie this bad since, “He’s Just Not that Into You.” However, I did not make “The Innocence of Muslims”. I had nothing to do with the making of “The Innocence of Muslims”. I am not the filmmaker. Here, I’ll print it in Arabic:

لمأكنجعلفيلمبراءةالمسلمين“. لميكنلديأيعلاقةمعهذاالفيلم. لميكنلديأياتصاللهذاالفيلم.

Unfortunately, an estimated 2/3 of Musims cannot read. And as for those who can, so far 3 Pakistani newspapers name me as “the filmmaker” (here and here and here).

And now a Pakistani government official put a bounty on the head of “the filmmaker” without naming anyone in particular. Soon after, a Pakistani Islamic cleric put a bounty of “10 million Rupees” (where have I heard that before?) on “the filmmaker” without naming anyone by name. It’s as if this were to insure that there be no future filmmakers who create YouTube videos which “mock the prophet”.

Someone purposefully planted the false story that I made the film, even though the real filmmaker has clearly been identified. Again, if I ever do make a film which “mocks the prophet” I will stand behind it. Whoever is behind this plot, planting this story and trying to fan the flames to get me assassinated, is trying to exact revenge, to silence me. Given the number of Islamists I have exposed, for their terrorist ties, in my articles online, figuring out “who done it” is like something right out of an Agatha Christie novel, if Agatha Christie was wearing a burka and the property of some Muslim man. So why is that? Have I hit a nerve? Who would have the resources, the connections and the drive to keep this false rumor alive?

Whoever is behind this plot to silence or kill me, it doesn’t matter. Because I will not be silenced. I will not submit – and neither should you. I will continue to share information which exposes Muhammad for the vile, disgusting, pedophile, rapist, homicidal sadistic maniac, blood thirsty tyrant, hiding a desperately fragile ego – and so should you.

Islam’s dirty little secret regarding the truth about Muhammad must be exposed consistently. Now is not the time to recoil, dazed in a state of shock, paralyzed with fear, just because you see savages rioting on your TV screen. I speak to the FBI several times a day, from the confines of a safe house, where I have been advised not to walk next to any windows. And I am not afraid. And neither should you be afraid. For Islam is just a scared little man – a scared little man whom we can and must defeat.

This is our time. The time is now. The time has come. Islam is making a major move, a power grab – not as a sign of confidence, but because in fact Islam is a dying idea, desperately clawing at anything to survive. But it cannot. Islam cannot survive the information age. Islam cannot stand up to critical thought, to reason, to factual analysis, to being outnumbered by rational sane and civilized people willing to speak up. If you are suffering from the delusion that you are a Muslim, seek psychiatric attention from a trained professional immediately. But if you are a lover of liberty than now is the time – now more than ever – this is your time and my time and our time to stand up and say ENOUGH. Truth is the enemy of Islamic brutality. Spread it. Spread it like Napalm.

Peace,

Eric Allen Bell
